We have had a very busy week in second grade. We went swimming and Mrs. Wiedeman took pictures of us. Everyone went in the water and really seemed to have a good time. Tomorrow is Friday and we always do fun things on Friday. We get to shop and have a little free time! Have a super night...The class

At school today, we had science. We got our own caterpillars. We named them and gave them homes. They will turn into painted lady butterflies. We earned a marble and a banana party. Mrs. Wiedeman said we were especially good. We had lunch and recess. It stopped raining and we got to go outside. It was a little wet. We had rocket math. Some kids passed. Tomorrow is Friday and we are keeping a secret from Mrs. McAllister's class. Can't tell you what it is!!!

We are having fun in second grade. Here are some of the things we have been doing: reading, glitter germs, science with Mrs. McAllister's Class, reading Kevin Henkes books, math journal, snack, Asha in the Attic, writing, Marvin Redpost, Rocket Math, germs on our hands with a special light, Scrub Club, Cafe Menu, practiced washing our hands, Animal books, and making name tags. Have a super night...please write back!

Our First Class Post

We had group time. We talked about germs and spread sparkly germs. We did rocket math and a bunch of us passed today. We are learning how to read and how to build stamina. 3rd grade won penny wars. They get an extra recess. Maybe next year we will win. Have a great night...The Class

First Week

Hi Second Graders and Parents,

We had a great first week of school. We learned many of the routines that we will be following all year long. We were able to check out the library and enjoy a few new books. We had a pep rally on Friday and talked about being respectful, responsible, and safe.

This is a fun way for us to communicate. I love having students and parents comment on the blog. If you want to post a comment: Click on comments under the post you want to talk about, Type your comment and write your name at the end, Then you will need to click where it says COMMENT AS (there is a drop down box), click on anonymous, click post the comment, and it will ask you to type in a secret code. Do this and your comment will post. As you look through the posts, you will see that my students were really good at this last year and LOVED doing this.

Hello Cole and Austin!

Hi Cole and Austin,

Thanks for writing back. Wow! You both are having lots of fun. I'm so glad to hear you did the reading program Austin. Good luck with football. Hope you keep passing levels in swimming. I passed all the levels when I was a kid and actually became a lifeguard and swim instructor. I taught swim lessons for about 6 years.

Cole...Sounds like you are having a great summer too. I bet you had fun in Michigan. I haven't been to Michigan in a really long time. My parent live on a lake in Tomahawk and I went water skiing during the 4th of July!

At Disney World, I didn't get to ride any of the big rollercoasters because Hailey was too little. I did take her on Goofy's Barnstormer Rollercoaster and we had a blast...we rode it 3 times! I also loved Animal Kingdom. We had front row seats at the Lion King show and Hailey got to dance with all the people. I also got to meet Cinderella, Handy Manny, Pooh, and a ton of other characters. Hailey got all their autographs!

We took Hailey, Brock, and Brayden camping last weekend for the first time. Brock and Brayden loved swimming in the pool. They also really enjoyed the playground. We are going to go camping one more time this summer before school starts.

I bet you are getting excited to find out who your teachers will be! I'm sure you will have a blast in third grade. You might get a little more homework though!!

Summer Fun

HI Everyone,

I don't know if you guys check this over the summer or not but I thought I would post anyhow. I hope that you are all having a fabulous summer vacation. I had a super time at Disney World with Hailey. It was soooo hot though. It was close to 100 degrees each day. Hailey loved all the rides. She can't wait to go back again. The boys are still crazy...they love to tackle each other. I am teaching summer school right now and Cade, Dylan, Ari, and Natalie were all in my class. It was really nice seeing them. It was fun learning all about the Magic School Bus. Before you know it, school will be starting again. I think you have about 6 more weeks of vacation and then you will be third graders. Keep checking the blog during the summer and school year! Write back and tell me what you have been doing this summer!
