Hello Second Graders,

I hope you are all having an awesome spring break. I'm at school today getting stuff ready for next week. I have lots of fun things planned for all of you. April is going to be a blast. We will be going to the Milwaukee Museum. DQ night is next Thursday. Family Fun night is next Friday. And...don't forget that the Golden Apple Awards will be on very soon.

We have been doing well in Rocket Math. Tomorrow we will be having chair races. We need to wear green or monkey stuff. We have a note in our Monkeys. We made Easter baskets and will be cracking eggs on Friday. We watched Mouse and the Motorcycle. Have a monkeytastic evening...The Class.

We earned a banana party. On Friday we get to bring our favorite stuffed animal...only one. Lenny messed up the room and the hallway. He gave some people hats and some pencils and everyone got a cookie. He triggered all the traps. We didn't catch him. He left a trail to somewhere. Maybe he is back at the Emerald Isle. Have a monkeymendous night...The Class

Lenny took the golden apple and put it in Wilder's locker. He left a trail to help us find the apple. Lenny gave each of us a pin to wear. Our room was a mess. The bins were tipped over, chairs were knocked over, and he really seems to like the Water Monkey's blue bucket. He keeps knocking it down. He destroyed the park that we made for him. Please make sure our traps are sent in for tomorrow because we will be setting them up. We got new buddies in science class and we looked at soil. We are having conferences at writing time so that we can have another Publishing Party! Have a good night...The Class.

Lenny gave us each a golden coin. We made Lenny pictures and letters. He messed up our room this morning. We hope he is (not) better tonight. We are bringing home information so that we can make traps to catch Lenny. This is optional. We talked about water safety and made posters. Have a fantastic night...The Class

We had to stay in for recess. Some of the kids went to the gym and listened to songs. Austin passed level Z in rocket math and is now onto multiplication. We did more safety today on water safety. At your house, in your yard, watch for water be on guard. Don't just pack it wear your jacket. We learned how to put on a life jacket. Lenny the leprechaun left us a note and left us a word search. We know that he wants to find gold. We want to catch him...We will be making traps. We think he may want Mrs. Wiedeman's Golden Apple....Wish us good luck....Have a good night...The Class.

3/9--Golden Apple Day

Mrs. Wiedeman won the Golden Apple Award today. Fox 11 news came and we will probably be on the news tonight. Mrs. Wiedeman got a golden apple and flowers from Andy and the kids. We had a little free time because we were so good...it is our secret. We talked about water safety. Think before you sink. Look before you leap. Reach or throw don't go. Be cool follow the rule. Swim with a buddy in a supervised area. Have a tremendous night...and...don't forget to watch the news...THE CLASS!

We learned about bike, skateboarding, and skating safety. We went to the computer lab and went on Google Earth. We had library time as well. We got new books. We learned how to measure the perimeter of objects. We measured our necks and our ankles and pencil boxes. Have a spectacular night...The Class

In science we learned about drinking and smoking. It is not good for you. You have to make good choices and be responsible. We made posters to persuade people not to smoke or drink alcohol. We just cracked words and some of us were able to spell the red hot chili pepper college words which were blackboard and shuffleboard. We did math boxes and learned about the 1/2 inch. Today was jammin pajama day. We had fun. Have a friendly evening...The Class.

We watched the movie James and the Giant Peach which is also a book. We made green eggs and ham in science. It was yummy! We brought our own books to school. We got to read quietly with our pillow and jammies. We had free time because there was no guidance this week. It is Dr. Seuss's birthday. Have a super night....The Class!

Today is March 1st! We had a test in science about space. We played a game called eggspert. Tomorrow is Dr. Seuss's birthday. Tomorrow is a Read In Day. We get to bring our pillows, books, and wear p.j.s. We get to read LOTS and LOTS! Today, Mason passed level Z in rocket math and is off to subtraction. Have a thrilling night...The Class
