Winter must have had fun in Mrs. Wiese's room over the weekend.  She was busy setting up lights and decorations.  She had a pair of scissors in her hand and scraps galore.  Winter has been one busy elf!

RAOK continued

Our Random Acts of Kindness continued last week!  We went on a community walk to deliver goodies to the bank and nursing home in town.  The kids got lots of smiles!  Hopefully they will continue doing random acts of kindness throughout the year!  Most importantly we hope that we inspired others to  pay it forward and do kind things!

Junior Achievement

We had our last Junior Achievement day with Josh.  The kids learned all about the community, decision making, and voting.  Here they are with their certificates!  Soooo proud!

RAOK--Random Acts of Kindness

It has been so much fun this week doing Random Acts of Kindness for others.  On Monday we put candy canes on cars out in the parking lot.  We braved the below zero weather to do this!  Today we invited Mrs. Hinderman's class to our room to do a gingerbread activity.  We also gave all the teachers at Glenbrook a bag of Christmas trail mix.  Keep an eye out for more Random Acts of Kindness this week!

5th Grade Buddies

We had our 5th grade buddies visit us on Friday.  We read the story Tacky the Penguin and then created our own odd penguins!

November Incentive

Each month the second graders participate in a competition against the other second graders to try to earn ribbons for our Team Wiedeman banner.  This month the kids had 5 minutes to write as many words as they could from the word Thanksgiving.  Both the girls and boys from Team Wiedeman took second place!  So fun!

Making Cards for Friends Around the World

We made 30 cards with Mrs. McAllister's class and then sent them all over the United States and to friends in Canada and Ireland.  They will be sending us cards soon.  We can't wait to learn about all these places!

We have been blogging with our friends in England.  Today we got a chance to Skype with them!  So neat!

Hmmmm....what have we been up to???

I feel bad that we have not posted recently.  We have been very busy at school.  We worked with our fifth grade buddies and did an interview with them.  

Josh has also come to our class to talk about communities for our Junior Achievement Time.  They were learning about unit and assembly line production.  Ask them about their donuts!

We are learning about Elections.
Mrs. McAllister's class and mine decided to vote for the best Packer President for Glenbrook Elementary School  We went through the voting process and nominated candidates, held a primary election, campaigned, and then voted with ballots.  Here we are with our voting buttons!  Results will be known tomorrow!  Aaron Rodgers or Donald Driver!

Labeling Fun!

We are learning about nonfiction books and the features that are in the books.  Today we discussed labels and YUP the kids labeled me!

We tried so hard to bug the kids while they were writing.  Nothing we did could distract these TOUGH kids from writing, writing, writing.

Katie McKy

I am sure you heard about Katie McKy.  Katie is an author that came to Glenbrook Elementary for a week. The kids were sooo excited to meet her.  She did 2 all school assemblies and then met with each class for an hour to work on writing.  The kids did a great job!  Ask the kids about S'mores!
