Lenny has caused alot of problems for us this week!  Yikes....This is what happened when we were at the Planetarium.  The kids have been busy making traps.  Make sure to take a look on Friday.  They will be up for you to see.

Lenny the Leprechaun

Lenny is back!  Yes, we have a leprechaun that has come to visit us!  You see....Mrs. Malchow, our first grade teacher, came to Glenbrook about 6-7 years ago and she brought her pack of leprechaun friends with her.  They always come the week before St. Patrick's Day and always leave on St. Patrick's Day to go back to the Emerald Isle.  They think we have GOLD hidden somewhere in our rooms.  Lenny is our class leprechaun and he left us a note on Friday.

Hello Me Little Friends,

I am so excited to be back in Ol’ Pulaski.  I missed ye all very much.  I did not find me gold last time me was here so I am going to get right back to lookin’ in every nook and cranny.  Me hoping to find it soon so that I can buy some loot with it.  I am hopin’ ye all have a Happy St. Patty’s day.  I’ll be watching ye my little Irish friends.

The kids just finished their how to paragraphs and we turned them into books by using a site called Little Bird Tales.  They are at the bottom on the blog.  Check them out!  Soooo Fun!

SPACE!!!

We have been learning about the sun and moon the past few weeks.  This week we told the kids that they were going to be learning about the planets by doing RESEARCH!  These are just some of the fun ways the kids learned about the planets.

This App allows the kids to learn about the planets by watching short video clips.

You can never go wrong with a good book!

The kids had to scan in a QR code and then listen to information about their planet on Youtube.

The kids used this kid friendly search engine to find facts about their planets.

Mrs. McAllister, Miss Murray, and I were amazed at what the kids were able to do this week.  They were so independent and really seemed to enjoy every second of this process.  They are now going to take their research and showcase it in a Glog.  We will be posting these on the blog soon!

Read Across America Day

We are celebrating Dr. Seuss's Birthday in style.  The kids wore pajamas today, brought their own books from home, and are full of smiles!  So much fun!
